Did you know that advent calendars come from a 19th century German tradition?
This tradition began when families painted 24 chalk lines on the door or wall of their homes for the children to erase one for each day that passed until Christmas. This then spread to different countries and, today, has led to the creation of advent calendars that are used worldwide during Christmas.
In The Lab Room we like to continue with this wonderful tradition and that is why we have decided to make our own advent calendar.
